i feel that Bernard was trying to be popular or one of the important people buy throwing a party and introducing john the savage to them. but john did not want to join the party because he was in the middle of a book. Lenina was hoping to see john at the party but instead was introduce to a new feeling when john didn't show. john probably would have joined the party if he knew Lenina was attending the party. but instead he just continued reading and made Bernard embarrassed and humiliated and people started to leave quickly from the party when john didn't show.
after john gets a taste of civilization. he does not like it. to me it seems as though after Linda died and the incident with lenina. he chooses to be alone. he stays true to what he believe in. but when someone found him being religious, everyone was trying to get a story on him. I think john did not like the attention considering he launched an arrow at a near by helicopter and punctured the haul. I wonder if everyone would have left him alone would john be alive at the end?
I believe Mustapha's thoughts on religion is false. if someone is faithful to their religion they are always looking to their higher power form. when disaster strike's that's when we see people be faithful to their religion. but we don't seethem be faithful when they are successful. if someone is religious they will always be praying or thanking their religion for all the good and all the bad times in life. religion doesn't have to be a must but being faithful in what you believe in is.
as john came back up in the elevator to the ground floor. like today when the doors opened there was two lines of people asking for drugs. and almost everyone looked the same to him. john starts to think of what will come of this world if it continues the way it is. yet also with the natives who live like we do today, also did not take me in. Johns knowledge of religion and reading and knowing feelings make him different in both worlds. he is in a world of pretty much idiots all alone with no other inelegant life form to help him with what he is going through.
john is remembering the good thing of his mother. he thinks of the good because when someone you care about is on their death bed all you can is think about the way they impacted your life. but john has some trauma from his past that he has yet to deal with or talk about and this is the reason he throw the one boy and viciously shook his mother. he was upset that she is in a state of unconsciousness she calls for pope but he wanted to her to know it was him that was at her side and not pope. he was in pain and anger about some of the tragic moment of his life and because he has not dealt with it he acts out in extreme ways.
The way the factory was teaching the infants was interesting and crewel. I dislike the fact that it feels like everyone in this society is hypnotized and can not break the trans. The part with the electrified floor and the fact they cant have nice things or read books is as I feel against the first amendment the right to express one self
I do not like this society because their future is already made up, they can not make their own decisions and feelings. I do not like the social groups because there is no way to move up or down on it. once it is chose that you are a Alpha,Beta, gamma, delta, and eplilon
after the ritual, they meet a blonde-haired man with blue eyes. the savages, whose name is john, tells them that he is upset that the other Indians will not let him participate in the ritual because of his skin color. he explains that his mother was like lenina, a women from civilized society.
